Mirror Overview

This mirror has been specially tested and approved by VALOI, and it is well-made. Importantly, its back is flat.

Included in the Package

The package includes:

• 1x VALOI leveling mirror

This mirror was custom-made with a diameter of 1100 mm, featuring 6 mm thick glass and safe edges to prevent cuts. It is frameless, ensuring the perfect flatness of the mirror.

How to Level the Camera Using the Mirror

1. Prepare for scanning with all the right items in the correct place.
2. Place the VALOI leveling mirror on the entire equipment (on the holder).
3. Now your camera should see itself.
4. Turn on the camera in live view mode/look through the viewfinder and focus on the front of the lens.
5. Adjust the camera position (tilt and rotate) until the center of the camera screen/viewfinder is aligned with the center of the lenss reflection aperture. The film and camera are perfectly parallel when the center of the camera sensor shows the center of the reflected aperture.
6. (If you have an Advancer or adapter 104, use the leveling feet for micro-adjustment to achieve perfect results).
7. Ensure nothing has changed, remove the mirror, focus the film, and scan the images.
8. We recommend rechecking using this procedure every time you start scanning, as well as during longer scanning sessions.
