Originally introduced in 1940 as the world’s first variable contrast MULTIGRADE paper, ILFORD has continuously evolved this range to become the preferred black & white paper for discerning darkroom printers worldwide.

The current emulsion design enhances tonal response, revealing subtle highlight details while rendering shadows in deep rich blacks, accentuated by the bright white base. This makes it ideal for both beginners printing directly from negatives and advanced users seeking full creative control.

MULTIGRADE RC DELUXE is also available in Cooltone and Warmtone variants. It is part of the ILFORD MULTIGRADE system, allowing seven full grades of contrast when used with ILFORD MULTIGRADE filters. Compatible with common black & white darkroom safelights such as the ILFORD 902 safelight filter.
