Its wide, stable footprint and built-in wheels make it the go-to studio stand for overhead lighting, large softboxes, or background supports.
The Manfrotto 299B combines a heavy black steel spider base with three lightweight aluminum sections and two risers. The rectangular legs provide tremendous lateral stability, the leveling leg compensates for uneven floors, and the high-quality 80 mm braked wheels allow smooth repositioning without lifting. The top features a 17.5 mm socket plus 3/8 and 1/4 threads, and the classic Manfrotto Art. 013 Baby-to-Junior adapter is usually included. At 4.8 kg, it is easy to move yet rock-solid under real studio loads.
