The MITOYA MTY222 photo tripod is a versatile ball head tripod designed for cameras and video camcorders. Design and Construction

The tripod legs have a ratchet system allowing each leg to be tilted and locked in one of three positions. Each leg consists of four sections secured independently with plastic latches. At the top of each leg is a 1/4" threaded hole for mounting accessories such as a magic arm, preview monitor, or additional LED lamp. The feet are finished with non-slip rubber caps, and two legs feature wide foam handles for comfortable handling.

The third leg can be rotated and attached either to the tripod head or the central column, enabling conversion into a monopod with a wide adjustment range—from 52 cm (leg connected to the head) up to 186 cm (using the central column). All removable parts including the foot, central column, and head have 3/8" threads. The central column includes a removable hook for counterweight suspension and can be mounted in reverse for low-angle or "frog's perspective" shots.

Tripod Head Features

The ball head is equipped with three control knobs: two lock the ball bearing, and the third locks rotation around its own axis. An angular scale facilitates panoramic photography, while two spirit levels ensure accurate vertical alignment. The Arca Swiss quick release plate features a standard 1/4" mounting thread and four small non-slip washers for secure attachment.

Portability and Weight
