4K Ultra-Wide ePTZ Camera with AI Auto Framing
The Panasonic AW-UE5 features a 1/2.8-type MOS sensor combined with an F2.45 ultra-wide-angle lens, providing an exceptional 121° horizontal field of view. This wide perspective allows coverage of areas that traditional PTZ cameras might struggle to capture from the same position, making it ideal for smaller rooms where the camera must be placed close to participants or as an additional ultra-wide camera in multi-camera setups.
The AW-UE5 is available in white (AW-UE5W) and black (AW-UE5K) finishes, enabling seamless integration into various corporate, educational, and production environments.
AI-Powered Intelligent Framing
The camera includes AI-driven automatic framing functions that reduce the need for manual control during meetings, lectures, and presentations.
- Group Framing: Automatically adjusts the frame based on the number of people in the capture area. It zooms in for a single person and widens the view as more participants join, dynamically optimizing the shot as people enter or leave the room.
- Preset Framing: Allows registration of predefined zones within the wide field of view, such as a podium or stage. When a person enters these zones, the camera automatically switches to the preset framing, enabling dynamic broadcasts without manual operator intervention.
These AI framing and ePTZ features operate in the ePTZ/AI priority mode.
121° Ultra-Wide Field of View
The ultra-wide 121° horizontal field of view enables the camera to capture nearly the entire room from a relatively short distance, making it especially suitable for meeting rooms, lecture halls, and other spaces where traditional camera placement is challenging.
This wide image also provides the source area for electronic pan, tilt, and zoom (ePTZ). Instead of relying on mechanical camera movement, the AW-UE5 digitally selects and moves the desired frame within the captured image.
In ePTZ/AI priority mode, digital zoom up to 5x is available. After zooming, digital panning and tilting can be used to adjust composition and create various camera angles from the fixed installation position.
Smooth 4K Video up to 60p
The AW-UE5 supports video output up to 3840 × 2160 at 60p/59.94p/50p, delivering high image quality and smooth motion reproduction. This makes it suitable not only for presentations and conferences but also for events and filming environments.
The camera offers two main operation modes:
- ePTZ/AI Priority Mode: Provides intelligent framing and digital PTZ functionality with 4K output up to 30p/29.97p or 25p.
- 4K High Frame Rate Mode: Prioritizes 4K 60p/59.94p or 50p output; AI framing and digital zoom are not available in this mode.
This flexibility allows configuration according to the intended use: smart automatic framing for meetings and presentations or higher frame rate 4K output for smooth motion.
Multiple Interfaces: HDMI, IP, and USB
The AW-UE5 is designed to fit into diverse AV and production workflows, featuring HDMI, IP, and USB interfaces with simultaneous output capability. This allows a single camera to serve multiple production system components.

NDI HX2 and NDI HX3 Support for IP Production
Support for both NDI HX2 and NDI HX3 protocols makes the AW-UE5 especially useful in network-based video systems. High-quality video can be transmitted over existing IP networks efficiently, simplifying integration with compatible production equipment and software.
The camera also supports H.264 and H.265 IP streaming, as well as MJPEG, RTSP, RTMP, and RTMPS workflows. RTMP/RTMPS support enables streaming to compatible online platforms and services without requiring traditional hardware video output as the first stage of the workflow.
This combination of traditional HDMI and USB connections with modern IP protocols allows the AW-UE5 to operate in a wide range of environments, from simple meeting room setups to complex network production systems.
Simple Installation with Single-Cable Options
Installation is simplified by Power over Ethernet (PoE) or USB power options.
- Connecting to a compatible PoE network allows a single LAN cable to provide power, video transmission, and camera control, reducing cable clutter and benefiting permanent or ceiling-mounted installations.
- Using the USB-C connection, the camera can receive power from a computer, enabling video signal, camera control, and power delivery over a single USB cable without separate AC power adapters.
With a weight of approximately 0.5 kg and compact dimensions of 123 × 131 × 139 mm, the AW-UE5 can be discreetly placed on a table or mounted using the included brackets.
