Professional Use

The RØDE NTG2 is a lightweight condenser shotgun microphone designed for professional applications in film, video, television, and production industries. Its full frequency response, low noise, and audio transparency make it ideal for film, video, and voice-over recording. The low weight (161 g without battery) makes it suitable for boom pole use.

Frequency Response and Filtering

The microphone offers a native frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. It features a selectable high-pass filter at 80 Hz to reduce low-end noise such as air conditioning and traffic sounds.

Power Options

The NTG2 can be powered by either a 1.5 V AA battery or 48V phantom power supplied by professional cameras, audio recorders, or power supplies. The battery option is useful for cameras without phantom power, such as DSLR video cameras.

Included Accessories

The package includes the WSVM windshield to minimize wind noise and plosives during recording. For outdoor use, the optional DeadCat furry windshield is recommended.
