The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Art lens for Canon is a definitive large-diameter zoom lens designed to meet the uncompromising image quality standards of the Art line. It features an optimized power distribution with three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and four spherical lens elements to minimize optical aberrations.
The optical system effectively reduces coma, which causes points of light to streak, and transverse chromatic aberration, which cannot be corrected by aperture adjustment. It also minimizes distortion, especially noticeable in wide-angle shots, ensuring excellent optical performance throughout the entire zoom range.
Equipped with an optical stabilizer (OS) providing a powerful stabilization effect equivalent to 4 stops, this lens is suitable for a wide variety of shooting situations. The newly designed hypersonic motor (HSM) delivers 1.3 times the torque of its predecessor, offering exceptionally stable and quiet autofocus performance even at low speeds.
The lens supports full-time manual focus, allowing manual focus adjustment simply by rotating the focus ring without switching modes. To protect against dust and foreign particles, the lens mount features rubber sealing. Additionally, the front lens element has a water- and oil-repellent coating, enhancing performance in challenging conditions such as rain or near water.
