The Sony Vario-Tessar T* E 16-70mm f/4 ZA OSS is a versatile mid-range zoom lens designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount cameras. It offers a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 24-105mm, covering wide-angle to short telephoto perspectives, suitable for landscapes, portraits, and distant subjects.
Constant Aperture and Image Stabilization
- Constant maximum aperture of f/4 throughout the zoom range ensures consistent exposure and depth of field control.
- Optical SteadyShot (OSS) image stabilization reduces camera shake by up to four shutter speed steps, enhancing handheld shooting performance especially in low light and at longer focal lengths.
Optical Design and Coatings
- Constructed with 16 elements in 12 groups based on the Zeiss Tessar optical concept, maintaining a compact form factor.
- Includes one extra-low dispersion (ED) glass element, one Advanced Aspherical (AA) element, and three additional aspherical elements to minimize chromatic aberrations, astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations.
