The brand new HD Pentax -D FA 70-210mm f/ ED SDM WR combines a slim design with an astonishing optical performance.
This high-performance zoom lens is designed for Pentax K-mount and covers a 35mm full-frame image circle but works with APS-C as well.
The range works well for both portrait, sports and wildlife.
The lens features a weather resistant construction letting the user use it in harsh environment (rain, fog etc.)
In its 20-element, 14-group optics, it incorporates three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and two anomalous dispersion glass elements to deliver high-contrast, high-resolution images with edge-to-edge sharpness, while effectively compensating for distortion and chromatic and coma aberrations.
The lens weight approximately 819 grams.
Use of the high-grade, multi-layer HD coating to the optics optimizes the overall lens coating performance, while assuring edge-to-edge sharpness and minimizing flare and ghost images in backlit situations.
Lens features SP (Super Protect) coating on its front surface, this coating is highly repellent to water, grease and dirt, making it easy to wipe off stains such as fingerprints.
Thanks to a minimum focusing distance of 0.95 meters and a maximum magnification of 0.32 times, it provides a photographic coverage much wider than that of previous models.
With a nine bladed diaphragm aperture the lens produces an amazing bokeh effect in the fore- and background.
