The NiSi Athena Prime Master Cine Lens Set offers a comprehensive range of focal lengths from 14mm ultra-wide angle to 135mm portrait, covering super-wide to telephoto perspectives. This set is designed for versatile shooting scenarios, enabling capture of diverse subjects with exceptional optical quality.
Optical Performance
Each lens features a T-stop rating that measures actual light transmission, ensuring consistent exposure across all focal lengths. The 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, and 85mm lenses have a maximum aperture of T1.9, allowing for soft bokeh and beautiful background separation. The 18mm and 135mm lenses have a maximum aperture of T2.2, while the 14mm lens has a T2.4 aperture.
The lenses provide a large 46mm image circle, suitable for full-frame and large-format sensors. They deliver ultra-low chromatic aberration and enhanced micro-contrast control, resulting in superior image quality with fine detail reproduction.
Design and Features
The Athena Prime lenses are engineered to minimize focus breathing, maintaining a nearly constant field of view when focusing from minimum distance to infinity, regardless of focal length or aperture.
Proprietary Rear Filtration System
- Includes a Drop-In filter mount system for enhanced flexibility and creative control.
- RF-, L-, and G-Mount lenses support Drop-In filters.
- E-Mount lenses are available in versions with and without Drop-In filters.
- PL-mount lenses utilize a rear filter system.
- Note: Sony FX9 cameras cannot use the E-Mount lenses with Drop-In filters.
- Using the Drop-In clear filter on RF-, L-, G-, and E-mounts and the rear filter on PL-mount lenses is essential for achieving infinity focus and clear images.
- Weather sealing is provided for the Drop-In filter system.
Consistency and Compatibility
All lenses in the Athena Prime series have similar weight, eliminating the need for gimbal rebalancing when switching lenses. Except for the 14mm lens, all share a 77mm filter thread size. Aperture and focus rings are standardized across the set.
Each lens offers a 300° focus rotation with fluorescent focus scales marked in both imperial and metric units for precise focus pulling.
The lenses include standard 0.8 mod focus and iris gears, compatible with a wide range of follow focus and matte box systems.
Additional Accessories
The NiSi 77mm close-up lens (sold separately) can be attached to reduce minimum focus distance and enable macro photography effects.
