Featuring 96 kHz/32-bit floating-point recording technology, it ensures exceptional dynamic range, allowing you to capture audio from very soft to extremely loud sources without distortion or loss of detail.
Intuitive App-Like Operation
Equipped with a large 2.4-inch color touchscreen, the Portacapture X6 offers an app-like interface for quick and easy navigation. The Launcher system provides pre-set configurations tailored for various recording scenarios including multi-track recording, podcasts, music, interviews, field recordings, and ASMR, enabling fast setup and precise control.

- MANUAL: Main app for multi-track recording of up to six audio sources plus a stereo mix.
- VOICE: Optimized for interviews, dictation, and meetings.
- PODCAST: Supports podcast creation with up to four participants.
- MUSIC: Designed for capturing instrumental and vocal performances.
- FIELD: Ideal for outdoor nature sound recording.
- ASMR: Visual effects on screen respond dynamically to input sound.
Microphone and Input Options
The device includes two adjustable built-in condenser microphones that can be configured in A-B or true X-Y stereo patterns for versatile recording applications. Additionally, it features two XLR locking mic/line inputs with individually switchable phantom power (24 V / 48 V) for external microphones or line-level sources. A 3.5 mm stereo jack input supports monitoring and recording from wireless microphones, cameras, or other devices with plug-in power support.
Recording and Audio Interface Capabilities

Video Production Support
The Portacapture X6 is optimized for video production workflows. It offers camera/line output with selectable attenuation to feed audio directly to cameras or external devices. Wireless timecode synchronization with Atomos devices and UltraSync Blue is planned via future firmware updates. Additionally, Bluetooth timecode sync is available with the optional AK-BT1 adapter, enabling precise audio-video alignment even when the camera lacks audio recording.
Remote Control and Connectivity
With the optional AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter and the free Portacapture Control app, users can remotely operate the recorder from smartphones or tablets, allowing flexible placement and control during recording sessions.
