Optical Features
The Konus Spotting Scope Konuspot-80C 20-60x80 is designed for birdwatching and airplane spotting, featuring a variable zoom range from 20x to 60x. It utilizes BaK-4 glass prisms with multicoatings to deliver clear, sharp, and realistic images. The scope performs well even in low light conditions, enhancing observation quality. Its 45-degree angled viewing design allows for comfortable and relaxed viewing sessions.
Usage Instructions
To use the Konuspot-80C, remove the protective caps from the eyepiece and objective lens. Focus the image by rotating the focus wheel located on top of the scope. Zoom in or out by rotating the eyepiece; after zooming, refocus using the focus wheel. Due to the high magnification, it is recommended to use a tripod for stable viewing.
The included carrying case has multiple zippers, enabling use of the spotting scope while it remains inside the case for quick deployment. Despite this, it is advisable to replace the protective caps when not in use to prevent damage.
Digiscoping Capabilities
The spotting scope includes a universal smartphone adapter compatible with smartphones up to 86 mm wide. This adapter allows you to capture photos and videos of your observations directly through your smartphone. Center your smartphone camera in the adapter, remove the eyepiece rubber, and screw the adapter onto the eyepiece thread. Use your smartphone camera app to view, photograph, or record the subject. If the image is unclear, adjust focus with the scope's focus ring or zoom on your phone.
DSLR Camera Adapter
The Konuspot-80C also supports digiscoping with DSLR cameras via the included DSLR adapter. To use this feature, you need a T2 adapter (sold separately) to mount on your DSLR camera in place of the lens. Remove the eyepiece rubber, attach the DSLR adapter to the eyepiece thread, then connect the T2 adapter to your camera body. This setup allows multiple viewers to observe the live image on the camera screen and capture high-quality photographs of the observed subject.
