Usage and Handling
The Konuspot-100C spotting scope is ready for immediate use by removing the protective caps from the eyepiece and objective lens. Focus is adjusted via the focus wheel located on top of the scope. Zooming is controlled by rotating the eyepiece; after zooming, refocusing is necessary. Due to the high magnification, it is recommended to use a tripod for stable observation. The included tripod bracket helps distribute the weight evenly, preventing the scope from tipping forward because of its front-heavy design.
The supplied carrying case features multiple zippers allowing the spotting scope to be used while still inside the case, enabling quick deployment. However, it is advisable to replace the protective caps when not in use to prevent damage.
Digiscoping Capabilities
Smartphone Adapter
The spotting scope includes a universal smartphone adapter compatible with smartphones up to 86 mm wide. This adapter allows you to capture photos and videos of your observations directly through your smartphone camera. By centering your smartphone camera lens in the adapter and attaching it to the eyepiece (after removing the rubber eyecup), you can use your phone’s screen to view the subject, share the view with others, and record images or videos. Focus adjustments can be made either by zooming on the smartphone or by using the scope’s focus ring.
DSLR Adapter
For DSLR cameras, a dedicated adapter is included to enable photography through the spotting scope. A T2 adapter (sold separately) is required to mount your DSLR camera in place of its lens. Attach the T2 adapter to the DSLR adapter, remove the eyepiece rubber, and screw the adapter onto the eyepiece. Then mount your camera body onto the T2 adapter. This setup allows multiple viewers to observe the image on the camera’s screen while also enabling photo capture.
