Durable Tempered Glass Construction
The NiSi Explorer Collection 150x150 mm Neutral Density (ND) filters are designed for adventurous photographers. These ND filters are made from special B270 tempered glass, making them twice as durable as typical glass filters. They feature an IR coating and a Nano coating that repels dirt, water, and oil, ensuring image quality and filter longevity.

These filters do not affect the coloration of the image, maintaining natural colors in your photography.

Compatibility

The NiSi 150x150 mm Explorer filters are compatible with the NiSi 150 mm filter system and can be used on lenses with filter thread sizes ranging from 49 mm to 95 mm.

Tempering and Durability Note

These filters undergo a tempering and hardening process to reduce susceptibility to accidental damage. However, they are not unbreakable, and the hardening effect may diminish over time.

How to Choose an ND Filter

Neutral Density (ND) filters reduce the amount of light entering the lens, allowing for longer exposures and wider apertures to create effects such as motion blur and shallow depth of field.

• ND8 / 3 stops: Commonly used for photographing waterfalls and water flow with shutter speeds between 0.5 and 2 seconds.
• ND64 / 6 stops: Ideal during the "golden hour" (shortly after sunrise or before sunset) for exposures of 1 to 2 minutes to create smooth water or cloud effects. Also suitable for capturing dynamic water textures before the golden hour.
• ND1000 / 10 stops: Suitable for daytime use when bright ambient light requires significant light reduction. During the golden hour, it can extend exposures up to 5 minutes with appropriate camera settings.
