The MagicSoft Recorder 2.0 software is particularly useful for multi-cam ingest and conformance recording because it supports up to 8 video inputs and each input supports 2 simultaneous recordings. The program supports AJA, and Blackmagic Design DeckLink and Intensity cards/devices. The input can be set either analog or digital depending on the capabilities of the card.
The MagicSoft Recorder software features an integrated scheduler, support for managing Blackmagic Design Videohub switcher over a network, and storage management for each assigned folder for recording. By default, Magicsoft Recorder is able to resume automatically a recording operation in cases like a lost input signal, computer restart, and any change of video mode (if the channel is set on Auto-detect mode). The software contains a watch-dog application that ensures the functionality of the MagicSoft Recorder and sends the status and alerts by SMTP e-mail.
MagicSoft Recorder works for all video modes by capturing the input video as YUV 4:2:2 10-bit and it can process up to 16 audio channels (32-bit, 48 kHz) depending on capabilities of the used frame-buffer. The files can be stored locally or over the network shared locations. The software can also generate proxy resolutions for all video modes. Up-converted 1080i files can be generated when the input is set to SD (either 4/3 or 16 /9), and down-converted files can be produced as well, including 1080i to PAL or NTSC, 1080p (50 and 59.94) to 720p, 4K UHD to 1080p, and 4K UHD (50 and 59.94) to 720p.
