Improvements in Eyepiece Manufacture
With the introduction of the 68 Series, two key enhancements have been made in eyepiece construction:
- 15-layer Enhanced Multi-layer Deposition (EMD) coatings on all glass-to-air surfaces to maximize contrast.
- Waterproofing achieved by Argon gas purging instead of standard Nitrogen gas.
Argon, being a larger molecule than Nitrogen, maintains protective properties over a wider temperature range and offers greater resistance to diffusion, thereby extending the waterproof protection of the eyepiece body.
Design and Performance
Utilizing computer-optimized design, carefully selected optical glasses, and enhanced multi-layer coatings, the Explore Scientific 68 Series eyepieces deliver:
