It isolates the H-Alpha (656 nm) and Oxygen III (496 nm & 500 nm) emission lines, maximizing contrast and signal-to-noise ratio for emission nebulae photography. This filter is particularly effective with fast optical systems such as Newtonian telescopes, double-lens ED refractors, and achromats, allowing CMOS color cameras to achieve image quality comparable to monochrome CCD cameras.
Performance and Usage
The L-eXtreme filter enables astrophotography directly from bright, light-polluted urban skies by significantly attenuating interfering artificial light sources. It does not require large or extremely expensive telescopes, making it accessible for amateur astronomers.
