How It Works
The filter transmits specific wavelengths (H at 656nm, H at 486nm, OIII at 496/501nm) while blocking others, significantly reducing light pollution. This results in higher contrast images, especially in light-polluted areas, while maintaining the brightness of the nebulae.
Nebula Imaging
Ideal for capturing emission nebulae like the North America Nebula (NGC 7000) and Orion Nebula (M42), the filter offers over 85 transmission at key wavelengths, enhancing contrast. However, it should not be used for broadband objects like galaxies; for those, remove the filter and use the clear optical window.
