Moon filters improve lunar viewing by reducing the Moon's bright glare, enhancing contrast, and making faint details more visible. Often called "sunglasses for the Moon," these filters provide a more comfortable viewing experience and reduce eye fatigue.

Comprehensive Filter Set

This Moon Filter Set includes all the filters needed to observe the Moon across its various phases. It allows selection of the optimal filter for different eyepiece and telescope combinations. Use the darkest filter with larger aperture telescopes and lower magnification eyepieces, and lighter filters with smaller telescopes and higher magnification eyepieces. This kit is ideal for advancing lunar exploration or for experienced observers using multiple telescopes and eyepieces.

Included Filters

• Three Neutral Density (ND) Filters: ND96-0.9 (13% transmission), ND96-0.6 (25% transmission), and ND96-0.3 (50% transmission). These filters uniformly dim the entire visible spectrum (400-700 nm) without imparting color, reducing lunar brightness to suit different phases, telescope apertures, and eyepiece magnifications. They also help reduce glare from Venus and dim bright daytime terrestrial views.
• Moon & Sky Glow Filter: This filter selectively reduces light transmission at specific wavelengths, significantly improving contrast for subtle lunar features. It imparts a very light purple tint to the Moon. Additionally, it enhances deep sky object observation in light-polluted skies by blocking wavelengths associated with common light pollution sources such as low-pressure sodium street lights.
