Dock, Launch, Explore
Forget complicated star charts, imprecise planetarium apps, and computerized mounts. StarSense Explorer simplifies locating celestial objects with speed and accuracy. After setup, place your phone in the unique StarSense dock and launch the app. Align your phone to the telescope optics in a quick 2-minute process. The app then generates a list of visible celestial objects. Select an object and follow on-screen arrows to move the telescope. When the target is centered, the bullseye indicator turns green.

Compatible with most modern smartphones, including iPhone 6 and newer, and Android devices running 7.1.2 or later manufactured since 2016.
High-Quality Altazimuth Mount with Slow Motion Control
The ultra-stable altazimuth mount provides a sturdy foundation. Slip clutches and geared slow-motion controls on both axes allow smooth telescope movement and precise targeting. Adjustable full-height tripod ensures stability. Easily track celestial objects as they drift across the sky by turning the control knobs.

The 5-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube, a proven design for over 50 years, offers excellent light-gathering capability while remaining compact and lightweight. Expect sharp, bright views of Jupiter's four Galilean moons, cloud bands, Great Red Spot, Saturn's rings, the Orion Nebula's trapezium, and the Pleiades Open Star Cluster.
All air-to-glass surfaces feature StarBright XLT coatings to increase contrast and light transmission, enhancing deep space views. This coating allows observation of subtle details on the Moon, planets, faint galaxies, and nebulae.
