NexStar Evolution 9.25" Edge HD with StarSense Telescope
Celestron's signature telescopes reach a new level with the NexStar Evolution, the first Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope featuring integrated Wi-Fi. Leave your hand controller behind and navigate to the best celestial objects with a single tap on your smartphone or tablet. Connect your device to the NexStar Evolution's built-in wireless network and explore the universe using the free Celestron mobile app available for iOS and Android.
Use the planetarium interface to view the night sky in real time or display a list of celestial objects currently visible based on your time and location. The patented SkyAlign alignment procedure is integrated into the Celestron mobile app, allowing you to start observing within minutes.
Exceptional Telescope Design
Celestron engineers developed the NexStar Evolution based on years of customer feedback. It offers many thoughtful design features that together provide the best possible stargazing experience. Forget about batteries or external power sources. For the first time in a consumer telescope, the NexStar Evolution includes a built-in lithium-ion battery. One charge provides up to 10 hours of continuous stargazing. You can even use the NexStar Evolution's USB charging port to power other devices that need to stay on during your observing session.
Setup is quick and easy thanks to large ergonomic handles. The steel tripod features leg engravings to help achieve a level, uniform telescope height. Manual clutches in both altitude and azimuth provide greater flexibility to manually move the telescope when powered off. Two accessory trays can store up to seven eyepieces, one of which includes adjustable red LED illumination.
Superior Tracking for Astrophotography
If you are interested in astrophotography, the NexStar Evolution is an excellent and affordable way to start. It is the only fork-mount telescope in its price range offering worm gears combined with upgraded motors. The tracking accuracy is so impressive that you can capture images of deep-sky objects like the Orion Nebula simply by attaching your DSLR camera. As you advance in astrophotography, you can add the Pro HD Wedge for longer exposures and more detailed astrophotos.
The Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system delivers bright, sharp views with StarBright XLT optical coatings—an excellent choice for both visual observers and aspiring astrophotographers.
Additional Features and Accessories
The NexStar Evolution is equipped with four additional ports—two on the top of the fork and two on the bottom. The classic NexStar+ hand controller is included but not required when using the mobile app. The telescope also includes a StarPointer finderscope, two 1.25" Plossl eyepieces, a 1.25" star diagonal, and an AC adapter.
For safe storage, Celestron recommends the NexStar Case. Although not specifically designed for the Evolution series, the Evolution 6 telescope fits comfortably inside.
