The NexImage 20 utilizes the Onsemi AR2020 sensor, optimized for low-light astrophotography with 1.4 μm square pixels on a 7.3 x 5.4 mm sensor area. This sensor offers high sensitivity of 8.7 ke⁻/lux-sec, enabling capture of fine surface details even under challenging atmospheric conditions.
The camera includes a free download of Celestron's iCap software, allowing precise control over exposure, gain, frame rate, and other imaging parameters to fully exploit the sensor's capabilities.
Easy Setup
Designed for both beginners and experienced users, setup is straightforward. After installing the driver and iCap software, attach the camera to the included 1.25-inch nosepiece, insert it into your telescope's eyepiece holder, and connect the USB-C cable to the camera and USB-A to your Windows computer. This enables immediate capture of high-resolution images and videos.
Region of Interest (ROI) for Speed and Efficiency
The NexImage 20 sensor can be fully utilized for imaging large objects like the Moon or Sun (with appropriate solar filter). For smaller targets such as planets, the ROI feature allows cropping the sensor area to focus on the target, increasing frame rates for smoother video, reducing file sizes, and accelerating post-processing workflows like frame stacking.
