Equipped with a variable fluid drag system on both pan and tilt, the 509HD ensures exceptionally smooth movements, allowing operators to fine-tune resistance from zero to maximum depending on shooting conditions. The 4-step counterbalance system provides reliable support for camera rigs up to 12.8 kg at 55 mm C.O.G. or 8.5 kg at 125 mm C.O.G., while the maximum safety payload reaches 13.5 kg, fully compliant with UNI/PdR 1052021 safety standards.
Fast setup and accurate balancing are made easy thanks to the long sliding quick-release plate (509PLONG) and Manfrotto's ABR (Advanced Balancing Recorder), which records the correct balancing position to save time when remounting equipment. Levelling is quick and precise using the integrated Ø100 mm half ball and backlit bubble spirit level, ideal for low-light environments.
For expanded rig configurations, the Easy Link 3/8" threaded connections allow external accessories such as monitors, microphones, or arms to be attached directly to the head.
