The UV filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.
The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.
Hoya Pro1 series UV(0) filters are digital multi coated, greatly reduceing the appearance of lens flare and ghosting caused by reflections. Filters also feature a black matte aluminum satin finish almite frame which reduces reflections. These filters are equipped with black rimmed glass to reduce the chance of light reflecting off the edge. Ultra thin filter frames to help avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses are also designed to hold a lens cap.
