Irix Revo UV Protect 67mm IFRV-UV-67

UV and Protection Filter

The Irix Revo UV Protect 67 mm is a screw-in filter for photographic and cine lenses with a 67 mm front filter thread. It reduces the UV component and helps protect the lens’s front element from dust, moisture, scratches and everyday mechanical damage. Irix also describes the filter as helping to reduce UV-related haze. It is a UV/protection filter, not a circular polarising filter, and does not provide polarisation or reflection-reduction functions.

Optical performance and construction

The filter uses Japanese AGC optical glass and has 18 coating layers, including anti-reflective, hydrophobic and oil-repellent coatings. These coatings help reduce unwanted reflections, repel water and grease, and resist stains and scratches. The published transmission figure is 98.9% across the 420–750 nm range; no specific UV transmission value or UV cut-off wavelength is stated.

Its slim aluminium frame is designed to help limit vignetting, including when used with wide-angle lenses. The front is threaded, allowing compatible accessories such as a lens hood or additional filter to be fitted.
