Maximum Charging Current of 6A
The S-3812S charger can simultaneously charge two V-mount batteries at a maximum current of 6A for SWIT specific battery models, enabling significantly faster charging compared to standard chargers. Supported battery models for 6A fast charging include:
- PB-H290S
- PB-S220S
- PB-R160S
- PB-R290S
- S-8340S
- S-8360S
- D-8161S
- S-8180S
- S-8113S
- S-8183S
For other battery types, the charging current is limited to 3A.
Charging Time Comparison
Charging durations vary by battery model, with the S-3812S significantly reducing charge times compared to normal chargers:
- S-8340S: 2 hours 35 minutes (normal 6 hours 20 minutes)
- S-8360S: 3 hours 50 minutes (normal 9 hours 30 minutes)
- D-8161S: 2 hours 55 minutes (normal 7 hours 40 minutes)
- D-8113S: 2 hours 35 minutes (normal 6 hours 20 minutes)
- S-8180S: 3 hours 30 minutes (normal 8 hours 30 minutes)
- S-8183S: 3 hours 50 minutes (normal 9 hours 30 minutes)
AC-DC Adapting Output
The charger supports a single-channel AC-DC adapting output via a 4-pin XLR port. Using the S-7102 cable (4-pin XLR female to male), it can supply 16.8V DC power to external equipment with a maximum load of 200W (12A). When the adapting load is below 100W, the charger can still charge two batteries sequentially.
Battery-DC Adapting Output
Mounted batteries on the S-3812S can provide DC power output through the 4-pin XLR port. The S-7102 cable enables 16.8V DC power delivery to other devices with a maximum load of 200W (12A).
LCD Charging Information Display
The integrated LCD screen displays real-time charging and adapting data, including:
- Battery charging and discharging status
- Real-time capacity and percentage
- Real-time voltage and current
- Remaining time to full charge
- Remaining time to full discharge
- Battery cycle count
- Adapting output current and power
Note: Detailed battery information display is available only with SWIT digital Li-ion batteries (models S-8320S, S-8340S, S-8360S, D-8161S/R). For non-digital batteries, the display shows only real-time voltage and current.
3-Color LED Indicators
The charger features 3-color LED indicators for each channel to indicate status:
- Red light slow flash: Battery is charging
- Red light fast flash: Battery nearing full charge
- Green light steady: Battery fully charged
- Green light flashing: Battery in adapting output mode
- Orange light flashing: Battery or charger abnormal alert
