Separate Feeds for Separate Needs

The V-8HD provides an aux output for sending any connected input device to a dedicated video feed without affecting the main program output. The aux output can also be synchronized with the program output, functioning as a 2x distribution amplifier.

Built-In Multiviewer Display

A bright 4.3-inch multiviewer display allows monitoring of all eight video inputs, program, preview, and menu overlay from a single screen. Input windows show camcorder recording status and embedded audio levels. An external TV can be connected for a larger multiviewer experience or menu adjustments.

Audio and Effects

The integrated 18-channel digital audio mixer blends signals from eight HDMI inputs and stereo RCA inputs. A preset effects library includes setups for meetings, interviews, wind noise reduction, and microphone de-essing.

Automated Video Switching

Three technology-assisted automatic switching modes are available: Input Scan (random or sequential input switching), Preset Memory Scan (switching between preset memories), and Beats Per Minute (BPM) Sync (automatic switching at a specified tempo).

Record Triggering and Confirmation

The V-8HD can trigger Atomos recorders to start and stop recording via HDMI. Some camcorders display a recording confirmation icon on the multiviewer screen input channel, allowing monitoring of recording status.

V-8HD iPad Remote Control Utility

A dedicated iPad app provides an efficient touch interface for switching functions, audio mixing with virtual faders, settings and effect parameter changes, and creation of up to eight custom scenes for quick setup changes.

Hands-Free Switching & Control

Compatible with BOSS single or double footswitches to execute over 100 switcher commands, including cutting to still images, toggling picture-in-picture, dropping keyed lower third titles, switching aux output feeds, and toggling automatic switching modes.
