Advanced Diffusion Materials
This softbox includes two layers of ultra-soft diffusion materials: Magic Cloth and Silk Cloth. Together, they transform hard COB light into a beautiful, soft light that evenly wraps around the subject, making it ideal for portraits, interviews, documentaries, music videos, and narrative filmmaking.
Quick Setup
The Light Dome II features a new generation quick-release speed ring, allowing installation and disassembly in under one minute. This design supports fast-paced production environments requiring rapid diffusion setup.
Gel Holder Support
The second generation Light Dome includes a gel holder positioned to maximize gel effectiveness while minimizing material usage. Caution: When using color gels with powerful LED lights like the Aputure C300D, heat may cause distortion or burning of gels over time. It is recommended to replace color filters every three hours during continuous use and to use ROSCO or LEE gels for better results.
Perfectly Round Catchlight
The 35-inch Light Dome II uses 16 rods creating 32 points of axis, producing an exceptionally round beam of light that forms a nearly perfect circle. Combined with Aputure COB Series or other Bowens mount fixtures, it provides precise circular light that creates attractive catchlights in the eyes of on-camera talent.
High Quality Fabric Grid
The included studio-grade fabric grid narrows the beam angle to 40 degrees, helping to control light spill and focus the light.
Universal Mount
The Light Dome II is compatible with all Light Storm COB fixtures and a wide range of Bowens mount lighting systems, the most common mounts in photography lighting.
