Light Dome SE Overview

The Aputure Light Dome SE is a 16-sided parabolic softbox with an 85 cm diameter (33.5 inches) designed to provide soft, wraparound lighting ideal for photography and videography. Its unique design includes multiple diffusion options and a honeycomb grid for precise light control. The softbox features a Bowens-type speed ring mount compatible with a wide range of LED lights including Aputure Light Storm series and Amaran models.

Construction and Materials

Equipped with 16 lightweight, flexible fiberglass rods, the Light Dome SE maintains a near-circular shape to produce natural oval catchlights and smooth light falloff. The interior is lined with highly reflective silver fabric to maximize light output while minimizing loss.

Diffusion and Light Control

• Two external front diffusion fabrics providing 1.5 and 2.5 stops of light reduction
• One removable internal diffuser with 1.5 stops of light reduction to soften the initial point source
• 45° fabric honeycomb grid for directional control and selective lighting

Compatibility

The softbox is compatible with Bowens mount LED lights such as the Amaran 100d, 100x, 200d, 200x, and Aputure LS 600d Pro, 300d II, 300x, and 120d II. It also supports other lights using the Bowens mount standard.
