Tamron TAP-in Console for Canon EF Mount
The Tamron TAP-in Console is a device designed to enable precise fine-tuning and firmware updates for select Tamron SP-series lenses with Canon EF mounts. It connects directly to compatible lenses via the bayonet mount and interfaces with the TAP-in Utility software on Mac and Windows computers, providing enhanced control over lens performance and settings.
Customization Options
- Focus Adjustment: Allows micro adjustments of focus across three distance ranges: close, intermediate, and far. For zoom lenses, an additional eight segments per range are available, totaling 24 adjustable regions to correct front- or back-focusing issues.
- Focus Distance Limiter Customization: For lenses equipped with a Focus Limiter switch, users can set specific near and far distance ranges within which the lens will focus.
- Vibration Compensation (VC) Adjustment: For lenses with VC, three modes can be selected: prioritize image stabilization in the viewfinder, prioritize stabilization during shooting, or balance stabilization between the viewfinder and captured images.
- Full-Time Manual Focus Override Customization: For lenses supporting full-time manual focus override, users can toggle this mode ON or OFF and adjust the focusing ring sensitivity between high and low settings.
Firmware Updating
The console facilitates updating both the lens firmware and the console's own firmware via an internet connection through a dedicated website, ensuring lenses remain current with the latest improvements.
TAP-in Utility Software
This free software offers an intuitive interface for adjusting all customizable options. It supports Mac OS X versions 10.10 through 11 and Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems. System requirements include an Intel or Core2 Duo or faster processor, 1 GB RAM, available disk space, and a USB 2.0 port for console connection.
