Tamron TAP-in Console for Canon EF Mount
The Tamron TAP-in Console is a device designed to allow users to fine-tune the performance and update the firmware of select Tamron SP-series lenses with Canon EF mounts. It connects directly to the lens via the bayonet mount and interfaces with the TAP-in Utility software on Mac and Windows computers, providing enhanced control over lens behavior and settings.
Customization Options
- Focus Adjustment: Enables micro adjustments of focus across three distance ranges (close, intermediate, far). For zoom lenses, an additional eight segments are available, totaling 24 adjustable regions to correct front- or back-focusing issues.
- Focus Distance Limiter Customization: For lenses with a Focus Limiter switch, users can configure specific near and far distance ranges that the lens will focus within.
- Vibration Compensation (VC) Adjustment: For lenses with VC, three modes are selectable: prioritize viewfinder image stabilization, prioritize stabilization during shooting, or balance stabilization between viewfinder and captured images.
- Full-Time Manual Focus Override Customization: For lenses supporting full-time manual focus override, users can toggle the mode ON or OFF and adjust the focusing ring sensitivity between high and low.
Firmware Updating
The console also facilitates updating the lens firmware and its own firmware via an internet connection through a dedicated website, ensuring lenses remain up-to-date with the latest improvements.
TAP-in Utility Software
This free software provides an intuitive interface for adjusting all customizable options. It supports Mac OS X 10.10 to 11 and Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems, requiring an Intel or Core2 Duo or faster processor, 1GB RAM, disk space, and a USB 2.0 port for console connection.
