This adapter facilitates the integration of a wide range of Canon lenses with Sony's high-end cinema cameras.
Design and Build Quality
Constructed for reliable field operation, the adapter features an extra-large, geared iris ring for precise aperture control and an easy-to-turn breech-lock mechanism that securely attaches EF/EF-S mount lenses. Both the camera-side and lens-side mounts are made of precision-machined brass plated with chromium, ensuring a solid, play-free connection without any need for adjustments. The adapter's body is finished with a satin surface coating, and the interior opening is lined with flocking material to reduce internal reflections, enhancing image quality.
Electronic Integration and Functionality
The adapter provides true electronic control of the lens aperture directly from the camera body. It supports automatic aperture selection in Program (P) and Shutter Priority (S) exposure modes, and manual aperture control in Aperture Priority (A) and Manual (M) modes. The adapter also transmits EXIF data including lens identification, focal length, and aperture to the camera. Autofocus is not supported. Additional electronic features include:
- Viewfinder display of aperture, zoom, and distance (distance display requires compatible lenses with distance information).
- Auto exposure capability.
