It also increases the maximum aperture by 1 stop, enhancing light gathering capability and improving image brightness. The adapter improves the lens's Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), delivering sharper images with better contrast, especially near the center of the frame and moderately towards the edges.
Advanced Optical Design
The Speed Booster incorporates an advanced optical design using ultra-high index glass elements to achieve exceptional optical performance at record-breaking apertures. This design not only increases lens speed and field of view but also enhances image quality by improving MTF.
Compatibility and Electronics
This adapter supports Canon EF lenses, including those with image stabilization (IS) and electronic manual focusing, such as the EF 85mm f/1.2L II and the discontinued EF 50mm f/1.0L. It is also compatible with EF lenses from third-party manufacturers like Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. The adapter features built-in electronics that allow aperture control directly from the camera body. It is powered by the camera body itself, requiring no external power source under normal use. For passive Micro Four Thirds camcorders, the adapter can be powered via an external 5 Volt MicroUSB power supply.
