The Metabones ALPA to Fuji X-mount Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x enables mounting of full-frame ALPA lenses on APS-C Fuji X-mount cameras, enhancing the effective angle of view and increasing the maximum aperture by approximately one stop. Its advanced optical design features 5 elements in 4 groups using ultra-high refractive index tantalum-based glass, which improves corner sharpness, reduces distortion, and delivers professional-level image quality.
This adapter condenses the lens light onto the smaller APS-C sensor, effectively reducing the crop factor from 1.5x to 1.07x, resulting in a near full-frame angle of view. The Speed Booster also increases the maximum aperture by about one f-stop, allowing improved low-light performance and shallower depth of field for cinematic effects.
The 5-element/4-group optical design with tantalum-based glass ensures superior sharpness, minimized distortion, and reduced vignetting. For example, a 50mm f/1.2 lens becomes an ultra-fast 35.5mm f/0.9 lens with excellent edge-to-edge resolution.
Constructed from precision-machined brass with chromium plating, the adapter provides a secure, wobble-free connection between lens and camera. The matte black interior reduces internal reflections, while the satin black exterior complements most camera bodies and lenses. A detachable Arca-compatible tripod foot allows stable mounting on Arca Swiss, Markins, or Photo Clam ball heads. Two included hex keys facilitate tripod foot attachment and lens mounting adjustments.
While the ALPA lens physically mounts on the Fuji X-mount camera, automatic functions such as AE metering and auto iris are not supported. The adapter maintains infinity focus and preserves the optical quality of CRC and floating-element lenses.
