Camera Protection and Secure Mounting

The SmallRig Cage for Nikon Z 8 (model 3940) is engineered to protect the Nikon Z 8 camera while providing multiple mounting options for accessories. It securely locks the camera using one bottom 1/4"-20 screw, one locating screw, and one side lock adapter on the right side. Rubber pads inside the cage prevent scratches and ensure the camera body remains undamaged.

Full Access to Camera Functions

The cage design allows full access to all camera buttons, card slots, flip screen, and battery door without obstruction, maintaining ease of use during operation.

Accessory Mounting Points

• 1/4"-20 threaded hole
• 3/8"-16 threaded hole
• ARRI 3/8"-16 locating hole
• Cold shoe mounts for microphone and LED video light
• NATO rail on the left side for quick connection of side handles
• QD (Quick Detach) mounts for QD strap buckle
• Strap holes for hand strap attachment

These mounting points support a variety of SmallRig accessories including Side Handles (models 2093, 3814, 3847, 4017), Top Handle (3765), Monitor Mounts (2903, 2904), Manfrotto Plate (1280), Mini V Mount Battery Plate (2987), Single Rod Clamp (3598), and Magic Arm (3873).

Arca-Swiss Quick-Release Plate

The bottom of the cage features an Arca-Swiss quick-release plate compatible with Arca-type tripods and DJI gimbals such as RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, and RS 3 Pro. This allows for fast switching between gimbal, handheld, and tripod setups.
