The DJI Ronin 4D Flex is an innovative, expandable gimbal system designed to enhance filmmaking flexibility by detaching the Zenmuse X9 camera and gimbal from the main Ronin 4D body. This separation allows the recording module, power supply, and video transmission systems to be stored separately, significantly reducing the handheld weight to approximately 1.8 kg (4 lb), which is about 34% of the original setup weight. This lightweight design is ideal for prolonged shooting sessions, such as documentaries, interviews, and events requiring high mobility.
Lightweight and Flexible Design
The system includes a 2-meter (6.6 ft) ultra-thin coaxial extension cable that supports lossless transmission of high-speed signals, including up to 8K video resolution, as well as reliable control and monitoring signals. The cable is robust and flexible, capable of withstanding repeated bending, making it suitable for various shooting scenarios, including tight spaces like inside vehicles.
Versatile Mounting and Compatibility
The Ronin 4D Flex is natively compatible with Ronin 4D Hand Grips and the High-Bright Main Monitor, allowing it to function as a lightweight, compact, yet powerful standalone tool. It supports multiple mounting options with three 1/4-20 threads, one 3/8-16 thread, and one cold shoe mount, enabling installation on extension rods, tripods, jibs, or use as a remote cinematic head. The built-in pan-axis quick-lock facilitates stable static shots and expands lens compatibility, including telephoto lenses like the FE 70-200 mm F2.8 GM and FE 200-600 mm F5.6-6.3 G, as well as third-party cine lenses such as Zeiss SP or Cooke Anamorphic/i.

Switching between the Ronin 4D Flex and the integrated Ronin 4D setup is tool-free and fast, enhancing workflow efficiency.
