The Samyang 14mm T3.1 VDSLR II Canon lens is a wide-angle manual video lens designed for full-frame cameras. It was developed for professional film needs and impresses with its high aperture and excellent sharpness.
Optical Design and Features
The lens consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, including:
- 3 high refractive index (HR) glass elements
- 2 extra low light scattering (ED) glass elements
- 1 aspherical element
- 1 hybrid aspherical (H-ASP) element
The aspherical and hybrid aspherical elements minimize color aberration to achieve exceptional image quality with high contrast from the center to the corners, even when the aperture is fully open. The HR and ED elements effectively control chromatic aberration and reduce unwanted light scattering. Additionally, the lens features Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) technology to optimize light transmission and reduce flare and ghosting, resulting in bright and vivid color reproduction.

- Removable aperture ring allows smooth and quiet aperture adjustments, ideal for video shooting.
- Distance scales and T-stop values are marked on both sides of the lens for easy handling.
