The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 12G (CONVCMIC/SH12G) enables seamless integration of HDMI equipment with professional SDI systems. It supports all SD, HD, 4K, and Ultra HD video standards up to 2160p60, including DCI film rates such as 4Kp24, 4Kp47.95, and 4Kp48, making it ideal for high-quality monitoring and live production workflows.

Compact and Rugged Design

This micro converter features an incredibly small and durable metal enclosure, designed for portable operation in demanding broadcast environments. It offers professional 12G-SDI connections, allowing compatibility with SD, HD, and Ultra HD formats. The device is powered via USB, enabling power from televisions, laptops, or external USB power sources. It is also available without a power supply for flexible deployment.

Advanced Color Calibration and 3D LUT Support

Included is a 17-point 3D LUT for precise color calibration of monitors, which can be applied in real time for on-set monitoring. The 3D LUT can also be output on the 12G-SDI loop output, allowing the converter to function as a 3D LUT processor. This feature supports the use of low-cost computer monitors or TVs as color-calibrated broadcast or grading monitors. Custom 3D LUTs can be created using DaVinci Resolve software.

High-Quality Signal Processing and Format Support

• Supports 12G-SDI technology with built-in SDI re-clocking for low jitter and extended cable runs.
• Compatible with 8 and 10-bit video formats in RGB or YUV color spaces.

HDR and Color Space Compatibility

The converter supports HDR workflows with static metadata PQ and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) formats compliant with standards ST2108-1, ST2084, and ST425. It handles transfer characteristics for SDR, HLG, and PQ, and supports transport of HDR metadata over SDI. Both Rec.2020 and Rec.709 color spaces are supported, ensuring compatibility with modern broadcast and cinema standards.
