Polarizing Filter Functionality

Light rays reflected from surfaces become polarized. They also enhance color saturation and improve contrast. The effect is visible through the viewfinder and can be adjusted by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies depending on the rotation angle and its orientation relative to the sun.

The hardened antistatic top layer is water repellent, stain resistant, scratch resistant, and allows easy cleaning of smudges or fingerprints.

Hoya applies an improved 9-layer Super Multi-coating formula that significantly reduces or eliminates surface reflections, resulting in ultra-clear glass with a high transmission rate.
