Fine-Grain Liquid Negative Film Developer

Foma Fomadon R09 is a liquid developer for black-and-white negative films, formulated based on the original Agfa Rodinal recipe. It provides high acutance, enhancing edge sharpness and contrast, and is suitable for manual processing of all types of black-and-white negative films.

Shelf Life and Dilution

This developer has an exceptionally long shelf life and supports very high dilution ratios, including 1:20, 1:40, 1:50, and up to 1:120. Lower dilution concentrations produce negatives with harder and coarser grain, while higher dilutions yield fine-grain negatives with reduced contrast.

Storage Recommendations

• Opening half the bottle allows the remaining concentrate to last approximately 5-6 months.
• Using one-third of the bottle extends the remaining concentrate's life to 7-8 months.
• Using one-quarter of the bottle enables storage for about one year.

These durations apply when the developer is stored in a dark, cold environment (around 10 °C). Shelf life can be significantly extended by transferring unused developer into an oxygen-reduced container using an anti-oxidizing spray. When refrigerated under these conditions, the shelf life can reach 20-24 months.
