Device Overview
To ensure the rotation of magnetically connected tanks in any direction, the device is powered by a current from the power plug. Changing the direction of rotation provides exceptionally good washing of the entire film surface while simultaneously preventing the formation of bromide floods. The compact electronic control unit, including the motor, is built into a small housing that precisely matches the dimensions of the 1510 tank.
Efficiency and Cost-Effectiveness
Since the JOBO SilverBase does not have a water jacket, it is very compact and economical. As black and white film development typically occurs at room temperature, the JOBO SilverBase is perfectly suited for this purpose. The film development in rotation mode uses only half the chemicals compared to development in agitation mode, and thanks to constant mixing, absolutely reproducible results are achieved. Only 120 ml of developer is required for one film. Developing black and white film with JOBO SilverBase using JOBO Alpha developer costs just under 60 cents.
Compatibility
All tanks from the 1500 series can be connected to the JOBO SilverBase, as well as the 2520 tank from the 2500 series. This means that the JOBO SilverBase can develop not only 35 mm and roll films but also 4x5 sheet films using the 2520 tank designed for the 2509N spool.
