Universal and Modular Film Development Tank

The versatile and modular design allows for both 120 and 135 formats by simply changing the module. Its compact size makes it portable, fitting easily into bags and backpacks. You can load and develop films quickly without needing a darkroom, thanks to its simple and intuitive process. The Universal e Professional is perfect for beginners and also meets the needs of semi-professionals and professionals.

135 Module Features

The included 135 module has a designated space for a 35 mm roll. After inserting the film, it is clamped, and by closing the lid and turning the external knob, it automatically loads into the internal roll. Once loading is complete, a blade cuts the film, allowing you to start development.

Mixing During Development

You can choose between continuous mixing (recommended) or periodic mixing. The tank can be filled to half its capacity (290 ml) for continuous mixing or fully (490 ml) for periodic mixing. Experimenting with different mixing methods is also possible. Proper mixing is crucial for consistent results.

Design

LAB-BOX is an ars-imago project, designed and prototyped in Rome, Italy. After extensive testing, we optimized the LAB-BOXs dimensions and simplified its construction to create a durable yet user-friendly product. Our specialized team worked for months on technical designs, utilizing modern technology to create numerous 3D models and prototypes.

The following films cannot be loaded into the LAB-BOX 120 module and may be difficult to clamp in the LAB-BOX 135 module:
