Multi-function Shooting Grip

The Sony GP-VPT3 is a versatile three-in-one shooting grip designed for travel and flexible shooting. It functions as a shooting grip that easily switches between self-facing and outward-facing shots, a mini tripod for stable camera setup, and includes a detachable wireless remote commander (also available separately as RMT-VP2) for remote camera operation.

Easy Remote Camera Operation with Detachable Commander

Featuring wireless camera connection and ergonomic design, the grip offers comfortable handling with key camera controls accessible under your thumb. The grip can be transformed into a mini tripod, and the remote commander can be detached to allow seamless camera operation from a distance, ideal for fixed compositions and group shots.

Handheld Shooting with Freedom of Tilt Angle and Direction

The grip shape ensures stable handling with the camera attached, enabling handheld operation while freely adjusting the tilt angle. A dedicated button unlocks the head, allowing you to flip the camera direction from outward-facing to selfie mode in a single fluid movement.

Freely Switch from Grip to Tripod

Quickly switch between grip and tripod modes. Use the grip for handheld shooting or open it into a tripod for stable photos, videos, group shots, landscapes, or solo shooting.

Load Capacity of 1.5 kg

The grip supports cameras with lenses weighing up to 1.5 kg total, ensuring stable handheld shooting or steady shots when used as a tripod.

Use as a Tripod and Operate the Camera Remotely

The detachable wireless remote commander enhances shooting flexibility. With the camera mounted and the grip opened into tripod mode, detach the magnetically-affixed remote commander to capture photos and videos and control key settings from approximately 10 meters away.

One-Handed Control

The supplied RMT-VP2 remote commander features shutter, MOVIE (record), AF-ON, C1, and zoom/focus buttons, enabling one-handed video or still image shooting. Pre-assign frequently used functions to the camera’s AF-ON or C1 buttons to customize controls on the remote commander to suit your shooting needs.

An LED lamp lights or flashes to indicate remote operation and camera status, allowing easy monitoring during shooting.

Stable Wireless Control

The RMT-VP2 remote commander communicates with the camera via Bluetooth®, providing more stable connectivity than infrared communication, even with obstacles or sunlight interference. The wireless range is approximately 10 meters for comfortable remote shooting.

Connect to a Variety of Cameras and Smartphones

Besides Sony cameras, the remote commander can control selected Xperia™ smartphones, expanding shooting freedom across devices.

Reliability for Any Shooting Environment

Both the GP-VPT3 and RMT-VP2 remote commander are dust and moisture resistant, suitable for various shooting environments. No cables or receivers need to be connected to the camera, so the camera body’s terminal cover remains closed, enhancing dust and moisture resistance.
