Low Light Performance
The 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor features an enhanced image-processing algorithm that increases resolution without compromising the signal-to-noise ratio, delivering exceptional image quality even in challenging lighting conditions.
Expanded Creative Options
The X-H2 offers a maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000 second, approximately 2.5 stops faster than previous X Series models. This allows use of wide apertures in extremely bright environments and the ability to freeze fast action precisely.
160MP Pixel Shift Multi Shot
This is the first X Series camera to feature Pixel Shift Multi Shot. Using in-body image stabilization to shift the sensor by half a pixel between each of 20 frames, combined with Pixel Shift Combiner software, it produces a single ultra-high-resolution 160MP image with minimal false colors.
HEIF Image Format Support
The camera supports HEIF format, delivering 10-bit image quality in files up to 30% smaller than standard JPEGs, enhancing high-quality output straight from the camera.
8K / 30P 4:2:2 10-bit Internal Recording
In addition to high-resolution stills, the X-H2 records exceptional 8K video at 30p in 4:2:2 10-bit color internally to SD or CFexpress Type B memory cards.
Apple ProRes Support
Supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422, and ProRes 422 LT codecs, with ProRes 422 Proxy available for easier editing and streamlined post-production workflows (except for 8K/30P and 8K/25P recording).
8K Oversampled 4K HQ Mode
A new 4K HQ mode uses 8K oversampling to create high-quality 4K video that fully utilizes the 40.2MP sensor.
Improved Video Recording Time
The camera features a heat-dissipating structure allowing approximately 160 minutes of continuous 8K/30P recording.
Optional Cooling Fan
An optional cooling fan (FAN-001) can be attached to extend video recording capabilities in high-temperature environments.
New MF Assist "Focus Meter"
Provides a focus meter for manual focus assist during movie recording, enabling precise focus adjustments, usable alongside focus peaking.
F-Log2 Support
