Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera
The Canon EOS R8 is a lightweight, travel-friendly full-frame mirrorless camera designed for photographers and multimedia content creators. It features a newly developed 24.2MP CMOS sensor, also used in the EOS R6 Mark II, paired with a DIGIC X processor to deliver high-resolution images, impressive 4K 60p 10-bit video, and fast autofocus performance.
24.2MP Full-Frame Sensor and DIGIC X Processor
The camera offers a flexible ISO range of 100-102400, expandable to ISO 204800, enabling excellent performance in various lighting conditions. It supports 6K oversampled UHD 4K 60p video recording and Full HD 1080p at 180 fps for slow-motion playback. The DIGIC X processor allows continuous shooting up to 40 fps and pre-shooting capture 0.5 seconds before the shutter release.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
Featuring 1053 automatic AF points covering the entire sensor, the advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system provides fast and accurate autofocus with enhanced subject detection and tracking. It intelligently recognizes people, animals, and vehicles, maintaining sharp focus during bursts and video. The autofocus system performs well in low light down to -6.5 EV.
HDR PQ and Canon Log 3 Video Recording
The EOS R8 supports HDR PQ recording for 10-bit color files compatible with HDR displays, and Canon Log 3 for 10-bit log files that allow advanced highlight and shadow recovery and creative color grading.
Vertical Movie Mode and Aspect Markers
Vertical movie rotation can be set during or after recording for smartphone viewing. Aspect Markers help compose videos for different social media aspect ratios.
Livestreaming Capability
With UVC/UAC compatibility, the R8 can be used as a Full HD webcam for livestreaming and video conferencing without additional software, offering strong background separation with bright aperture lenses.
Movie Digital IS
Movie Digital 5-axis image stabilization reduces camera shake during handheld video recording, enhanced further when used with RF lenses featuring optical image stabilization.
2.36m-Dot OLED EVF and Vari-Angle Touchscreen LCD
The camera includes a bright 2.36 million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with up to 120 fps refresh rate and a 3.0" 1.62 million-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD with touch and drag autofocus point control.
