24.2MP Full-Frame Sensor and DIGIC X Processor
The Canon EOS R6 Mark II features an updated 24.2MP CMOS full-frame sensor that delivers versatile performance for both photography and videography, excelling in low-light conditions with accurate and vivid color reproduction. Paired with the DIGIC X image processor, borrowed from the Canon R3, the camera supports high-speed continuous shooting up to 40 fps with the silent electronic shutter and 12 fps with the mechanical shutter, including AF and AE tracking before each frame. A 30 fps RAW Burst mode enables pre-release capture to record moments up to 0.5 seconds before the shutter is pressed. The ISO sensitivity range extends from 100 to 102400, expandable to 204800 for challenging lighting environments.
Advanced Video Capabilities
The EOS R6 Mark II supports UHD 4K video recording at up to 60p using the full sensor width with 10-bit Canon Log 3 sampling. It also offers 6K oversampled 4K recording at 30p for enhanced sharpness, reduced moiré, and lower noise. Slow-motion video is possible at up to 180 fps in Full HD resolution. HDR-PQ recording is available for in-camera HDR production and external recording via the micro-HDMI port, which supports clean 6K output at up to 60 fps. Unlimited recording times are supported. The camera includes microphone and headphone jacks and a multi-function shoe for broad accessory compatibility. External ProRes RAW recording up to 6K 60p is possible when connected to a compatible external recorder via the micro-HDMI port.
