New Partially Stacked Sensor and Upgraded Processing
33MP Exmor RS CMOS Full-Frame Sensor
The a7 V features a 33MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor, which is the first Sony camera to utilize a partially stacked design. This allows for faster readout speeds and reduced rolling shutter effects compared to the a7 IV. The sensor supports advanced subject recognition and tracking, faster continuous shooting, and improved image quality with 16 stops of dynamic range. It has a native ISO range of 100-51200 and a top electronic shutter speed of 1/16,000 seconds.
BIONZ XR2 Processor
The new BIONZ XR2 processor enhances speed and performance, incorporating an AI unit for improved autofocus, color accuracy, and consistent auto white balance. It enables blackout-free 30 fps continuous shooting with full-time AF and AE, as well as 7K-oversampled 4K 60p video recording.
Pre-Capture & Speed Boost
- Pre-Capture: The camera can start recording images to the buffer when the shutter button is half-pressed, allowing users to save images taken just before the shutter is fully pressed.
- Speed Boost: This feature allows users to switch to a faster continuous shooting frame rate, up to 30 fps, for capturing the perfect moment.
Selectable Raw File Types and Composite RAW Function
