Light Pollution Causes and Effects

Light pollution typically occurs in night sky areas near intense artificial light sources such as city lights, including exterior and interior lamps of commercial or residential buildings, brightly lit advertisements, streetlamps, and sports or entertainment venues. This results in skyglow, which obscures stars, the Milky Way, and other astronomical features.

Functionality of the JJC F RN Natural Night Filter

This filter effectively filters out light pollution in specific wavelength bands, mainly reducing yellow light emitted by sodium vapor lamps, mercury vapor lamps, and low Color Rendering Index (CRI) LEDs common in urban areas. It maintains high transmittance in nebular emission lines, darkening artificial light sources and improving image contrast. The filter preserves pure image colors, enhances star clarity, and significantly improves overall image transparency. It also enhances sunset images by making the sky appear bluer and colors more vivid and layered.
