Features and Characteristics

ILFORD ORTHO PLUS is an orthochromatic black and white film designed primarily as a high-resolution copy film for negatives. It offers superb photographic potential due to its fine grain and sharpness, making it ideal for stunning landscape photography.

The film is sensitive to blue and green light but not to red light, which allows it to be handled and processed under deep red safelight conditions without fogging. This characteristic also means that reds and oranges in the scene appear darker with stronger contrast compared to standard panchromatic films.

Exposure and Processing

• Daylight shooting: ISO 80 (DX coded)
• Tungsten light shooting: ISO 40 manual setting or apply a 1-stop exposure correction
• Can be processed using standard black and white film development techniques
• Development times are available in the technical data sheet and on the film carton

Handling Notes

• Do not use amber safelight as it may cause fogging
• Can be processed and handled safely under deep red safelight
