DSLR Kirk Neff Offset Rig Overview
The SHAPE DSLR Kirk Neff Offset Rig is a 15mm rod-based shoulder-mount system designed for DSLR and compact cameras. Its offset design positions the camera's LCD screen directly in front of the operator's eyes for improved viewing during shooting. The rig is centered around the DSLR Kirk Neff Baseplate 2.0 and includes a rod offset bracket, along with pairs of 10" and 12" long 15mm rods that support the shoulder pad and dual handgrips. Both the shoulder pad and handgrips are removable for tripod-mounted configurations.
The camera attaches to the baseplate via a V-lock quick-release plate compatible with third-party systems using the V-lock interface. The baseplate clamps support one pair of 15mm rods, allowing placement of the dual handgrips in front and the rod offset bracket behind the baseplate.
The Quick Handle Rod Block provides dual handgrip support with SHAPE's push-button rosette release, enabling angle adjustments without removing hands from the rig. The Mini Composite Shoulder Pad at the rear offers padded shoulder support, mounting on the 15mm rods extending from the rod offset bracket. An included Back Pad attaches to the shoulder pad for enhanced comfort and camera support. A 1/4"-20 threaded hole on the shoulder pad allows attachment of additional accessories.
DSLR Kirk Neff Baseplate 2.0
This 15mm rod baseplate features a V-lock quick-release system with a 1/4"-20 threaded camera screw and adjustable rubber stoppers to prevent camera twisting. The rubber stoppers are removable and adjustable with the included hex key. The V-lock delta adapter on the quick-release plate can be adjusted forward or backward for balance, and the camera screw can be positioned front or rear. The baseplate includes two 15mm rod ports with thumbscrews, aligning the camera's optical center between the rods and positioning the lens height for matte box compatibility. Two 8" aluminum rods are included.

Quick Handle + Rod Block
The SHAPE Quick Handle + Rod Block is a professional video stabilization accessory featuring two camera handles, each capable of 360° individual rotation. Handles attach to the camera platform via a screw knob and can be quickly attached or removed using a push-button mechanism at the articulation point.
The anodized aluminum Rod Block supports all 15mm rods and allows precise positioning of the Quick Handle by sliding along the rods and tightening a red knob. It includes two screw-threaded holes for mounting additional components.

Mini Composite Shoulder Pad
The Mini Composite Shoulder Pad provides padded, ergonomic shoulder support for the rig. It mounts onto a pair of 15mm rods using a SHAPE Rod Block and can be slid to the optimal position and locked with a lever. A black screw knob beneath the pad allows attachment of optional accessories such as a SHAPE Counter Weight or Back Pad. Removing the screw knob reveals a 1/4"-20 threaded hole for mounting various accessories.
Back Pad
The SHAPE Back Pad is a standard rig component featuring a powder-coated anodized aluminum plate and arm attached to thick padding for user comfort. It is easily attachable and removable, supports the SHAPE BOX attachment, and its position can be adjusted vertically up to 50 mm and rotated 360° horizontally.

15mm Aluminum Rods
Included are two pairs of SHAPE 15mm aluminum rods: one pair 10" (254 mm) long and one pair 12" (305 mm) long. These hollow, non-threaded rods are made of durable aluminum with a clear finish and enable extension of the rig and attachment of various 15mm rod-compatible accessories.
