Unique Macro Lens Design
The Laowa Probe 24mm f/14 2X Macro lens offers a distinctive approach to macro photography, enabling extremely close-up perspectives and even underwater shooting. Its original design allows photographers to explore subjects from unusual angles and capture details beneath water surfaces.
Compact and Specialized Construction
Measuring 40.8 cm in length with a front optical element diameter of just 2 cm, this lens can unobtrusively approach subjects and access previously unreachable locations. It features a large reproduction scale of 2:1 and a minimum focusing distance of 20 mm from the front lens, ideal for capturing insects in natural habitats or looking inside small spaces.
Advanced Optical System
The lens barrel is made entirely of metal and houses a complex optical design with 27 elements arranged in 19 groups. The 24 mm focal length provides an 85° angle of view, allowing inclusion of the subject's environment with high detail retention compared to traditional macro lenses. Manual focus and aperture rings operate smoothly for precise control.
Integrated LED Ring Light
Due to the small front element and advanced optics, the lens has a minimum aperture of f/14, requiring good lighting conditions. To assist in low-light situations, nine LEDs form a ring light around the front element, powered via a micro USB port. This ring light can be connected to an external power source such as a power bank using the included 1-meter USB cable.
Water-Resistant Front Element
The front 20 cm of the lens is sealed against moisture, dust, and weather, allowing safe immersion in aquariums, lakes, or liquids for creative photography and videography. Note that the USB port is not waterproof and flooding it may damage the lens.
